vale house

London, UK

Vale House is set on the ground floor of a grade I listed mansion terrace overlooking a garden square. With ceilings reaching 4.5m, the space has been designed and converted to suit a busy work and family lifestyle. Private rooms moved to the north and public living spaces to the south overlooking the gardens. Every area has been re-modelled to offer abundant storage and the walls were purposely left free to offer space for their expanding art collection.

Existing details were removed from the doors and walls.  In contrast, the moulded ceilings and parquet flooring were reinstated. New elements are made obvious by the use of colour or texture, and are designed more like interventions. Colour was critical in the project and is very descriptive of the clients.
